CHAPEL HILL, N.C., Jan. 31 Tyler Hansbrough led five players in double figures Thursday and carried fourth-ranked North Carolina to a 91-69 crushing of Boston College.
Playing for the first time in eight days, the Tar Heels opened the game with a 14-4 run and ended the first half with a 22-5 outburst.
It was North Carolina's longest break between games after the start conference play in seven seasons.
Deon Thompson added 17 points for the Tar Heels (20-1, 5-1 ACC). Ty Lawson chipped in 16, Wayne Ellington had 14 and Marcus Ginyard 10.
Boston College (12-7, 3-3) dropped its third straight. The Eagles were paced by Tyrese Rice with 20.
