NEW YORK, Jan. 28 After concentrating on financial news for 119 years, The Wall Street Journal plans to add sports coverage in 2008 and move to uptown New York.

The Journal, purchased along with other Dow Jones & Co. holdings by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. in December 2007, has been adding more lifestyle coverage in recent years, The New York Times reported. The Journal frequently covered sports from a financial perspective, but now intends to add daily sports results to the mix.

The paper's newsroom will also move to the News Corp. building on 48th Street and Avenue of the Americas, leaving offices that overlook the World Trade Center site, which put the newsroom close to Ground Zero on Sept. 11, 2001.

Many of the suburb-dwelling staff are looking forward to the reduced commute, the Times reported.

The new sports page will be created in the next few months, possibly as an addition to the Journal's "Personal Journal" section.
