WASHINGTON, Jan. 14 The U.S. State Department on Monday notified Congress about part of the Gulf Security Dialogue arms package.
State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said the notification involved the sale of 900 Joint Direct Attack Munitions.
The deal carries a price tag of $120 million, part of an overall $11.5 billion deal. Five previous notifications have been submitted.
Monday's notification involves the sale of a Patriot missile system to the United Arab Emirates, E-2C airborne early warning system supports to Kuwait and Saudia Arabia and AWACS to Saudi Arabia.
McCormack noted Saudi Arabia has made great strides in fighting terrorism since 2001. He said the package doesn't erode Israel's technical superiority.
