WASHINGTON, Jan. 9 Republicans who had planned a strategy to run against Hillary Clinton are scrambling now to include Democrat Barack Obama in the mix for the U.S. presidency.

"Obama poses a greater threat to the GOP because he doesn't provide the same fuel to the GOP base," Republican election strategist Brett Sciotto told The Washington Times.

Obama, D-Ill., won Iowa's Democratic caucuses in an upset last week and finished a respectable second to Clinton, D-N.Y., in Tuesday's New Hampshire primary.

"Some think that Obama is a lightweight, and that voters will not see him as presidential material," Republican Party consultant Sal Russo told the Times. "The problem is that the same was said in 1960 about John F. Kennedy."

Obama is the guy for President

Senator Obama is hardly a 'lightweight'
By: Ronke' , Wed, 09 Jan 2008 21:48:52 GMT

Senator Barack Obama is hardly a "lightweight." He is an graduate of two Ivy League schools Columbia University and Harvard Law School. He was President of the Harvard Law Review. The senator has worked in the corporate sector, community relations, civil rights, taught Law at the University of Chicago, was a local State Senator in Illinois and of course, elected to the U.S Senate.

If someone very important to this country (with all due respect) did not know Brazil had black folk, then Senator Obama is fit to be president.

Enough said...and may the best man or woman win. I am confident the American people will decide who they want in office. Peace'
