Vietnamese tourist admitted to molesting Malaysian cop

Kuala Lumpur - A 44-year old Vietnamese tourist has been arrested and convicted in court for outraging the modesty of a Malaysian policewoman on New Year's Day, news reports said Tuesday. Vu Minh Vinh, of Ngan Son Hai Duong City in Vietnam, committed the offence in front of a retail outlet in the capital Kuala Lumpur when he approached the 27-year-old lady cop from behind and fondled her buttocks, the Star daily reported. The female officer, who was in plainclothes, reprimanded and arrested him after showing her identification papers. Vu, who was unrepresented, pleaded guilty to the molest charge at the magistrate's court on Monday and will be awaiting sentencing on February 13. No bail however was offered.
