MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 3 U.S. mortgage rates have fallen to their lowest levels in four weeks, the Freddie Mac primary market survey reported Thursday.
The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.07 percent with an average 0.5 point this week, down from last week's 6.17 percent.
The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage this week averaged 5.68 percent with an average 0.6 point, down from last week's 5.79 percent.
Five-year Treasury-indexed hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages averaged 5.78 percent this week, with an average 0.5 point, down from last week when it averaged 5.90 percent.
One-year Treasury-indexed ARMs averaged 5.47 percent this week with an average 0.5 point, down from last week's 5.53 percent.
Freddie Mac is a stockholder-owned corporation established by Congress in 1970 to support homeownership and rental housing.
