Singapore - A high-level delegation from Singapore is set to visit several top research organizations in Israel from January 5 to 11, the group said on Thursday. Headed by Dr Tony Tan, chairman of the National Research Foundation (NLF), the trip will provide an opportunity "to gain insight into the structures and systems that support and encourage the diffusion of university research to the market in Israel," the NLF said.
The delegation will also examine the role that the government, universities, industry research labs, technology incubators and venture capitalists play in Israel's high-tech society.
The participants hope "to understand how an academic entrepreneurship mindset and the technopreneurial environment are promoted and draw important lessons for Singapore," said the NLF statement.
Tan will meet researchers and management from the Israel Institute of Technology, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, corporate research labs of IBM and HP, venture capitalists and members of the entrepreneurial community.
