Tourrettes, France - The French car maker Renault is offering the Clio as a Grandtour station wagon version, extending the length by some 20 cm compared to the standard five-door model. The Clio Grandtour will sell in Europe for 13,400 euros (19,346 dollars), a price increase of 800 euros compared to the standard Clio, the manufacturer said.
According to Renault, the loading space has been increased by 50 per cent compared to the three and five-door models to 439 litres. By folding down the rear seat, the loading area can be increased to 1,277 litres. Additional space of 72 litres is hidden in a double load floor.
Three petrol-engined versions will be on offer in the range 55 kW/75 hp to 82 kW/112 hp with a top speed between 167 and 186 kilometres per hour. Fuel consumption is listed at 5.8 and 7.5 litres per 100 kilometres. Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are between 137 and 179 g/km.
The two diesel engines are powered by a 50 kW/68 hp and 76 kW/103 hp motors. Renault lists consumption at 4.4 and 4.7 litres and C02 emissions at 117 and 126 g/km.
Four airbags and Anti-lock brake system (ABS) are standard while ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) is an extra in some of the models.
