Washington - Senator Barack Obama has taken the lead in an opinion poll published in Tuesday's Des Moines Register ahead of the Iowa state caucus to select a candidate from the Democratic Party for this year's US presidential election. Obama can expect 32 per cent of the votes in the Iowa caucus, the newspaper reported, while current favourite Senator Hillary Clinton would garner 25 per cent and third place ex-senator John Edwards 24 per cent.

The caucus on Thursday in the land-locked state of 3 million inhabitants marks the start of the primary and caucus marathon leading to the presidential election.

Barack Obama for Change
By: Gloria , Tue, 01 Jan 2008 20:53:34 GMT

Obama for President is the only way to go. He represents what we Americans have needed for the last eight years. We need change and hope. He may not be the answer to all the problems this Country has faced and is still facing but he represents change and is for the working Middle Class. Republicans have always represented the rich. It's high time we make those in Public Service and people we put in office responsible for their actions that cause great distress and hoplesness within the American Public. We were once a Country that the world respected and looked up to. Now we are virtually hated by everyone and have even caused some of our Allies to not trust or believe in America as being of High Power with Integrity, Truthfulness and Honesty. What happen- George Bush happened. It is time for a change in our Political System. We must hold them to accountablility.

Obama, A Greater Judgment
By: bacaangel , Tue, 01 Jan 2008 18:52:07 GMT

In the most important policy decision of our times, the Iraq War, both Sen. Clinton and Edwards voted Yes. Obama was against the war from day one and still is. A greater sense of wisdom and judgment. He has my vote.

Hillary's comment
By: Nina , Tue, 01 Jan 2008 14:09:27 GMT

Hillary feels qualified to be president because she lived with Bill when he was president. In that case as the long-term wife of a surgeon I feel qualified to perform surgeries.
