Los Angeles - Dakota Fanning (War of the Worlds) goes looking for her dead mother in the new drama, The Secret Life Of Bees. She is joined by Alicia Keys (Smokin' Aces,) Queen Latifah (Hairspray) and Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls.)The story takes place in the American South of the 1960s, based on the bestselling book of the same name by Sue Monk Kidd, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Teenager Lily Owns (Fanning) and her friend Rosaleen (Hudson) run away from home to escape their horrific families and solve the riddle of Lily's mother. On the way, they meet three beekeepers who take them into their home in South Carolina. Kidd's novel, The Secret Life of Bees, spent two years on the bestseller list of the New YOrk Times. Filming is to begin in January in North Carolina.

Los Angeles - Brad Pitt (The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford) could replace his colleague Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain) in the film Tree Of Life.

Director and script writer Terrence Malick is keeping mum about the content. But according to media reports, it is destined to be a "complex drama." If Pitt says "yes" to the script, it would be the third change for the title role. Colin Farrell had been viewed for the part, the Hollywood Reporter said. Pitt would be supported in the tree climb by Sean Penn.

Keanu Reeves communicates as alien with Jennifer Connelly=

Los Angeles - Keanu Reeves (Speed) plays the alien Klaatu in in the remake of the sci-fi thriller The Day The Earth Stood Still. He has only one message for the NASA scientist Helen, played by Jennifer Connelly: Live in peace with each other or you will be erased. The black-and-white classic from 1951 is being filmed anew by Scott Derrickson. Filming started in mid December in Vancouver, Canada.
