Paris - The next generation of French high-speed train TGV is likely to run in Italy, according to Saturday reports by daily Le Figaro. Private railway company Nuovo Transporto Viaggiatori (NTV) was planning to operate the trains between Milan, Rome and Naples, it was reported.

The order of 25 trains was worth between 625 and 875 million euros (897 million - 1.256 billion dollars), the paper said.

NTV was founded by Fiat chief Luca Cordero de Montezemolo and Tod's chief Diego Delle Valle.

The report has so far not been confirmed by the company.
