16 die in Himachal road accident

Shimla, Dec 2 - Sixteen people were killed Sunday when an overloaded jeep they were travelling in fell into a dry bed of the river Sutlej in Himachal Pradesh, police said.The accident took place at around 3 a.m. on a winding mountain road near the town of Rampur, 135 km from here. Rescue teams could reach the spot only after day break.Twelve of the sixteen bodies have been identified. A young boy who was injured is the lone survivor.
