Melbourne, Nov 24 - Indo-Swede Daniel Chopra moved into a great position to add a maiden European Tour title to the PGA Tour title he won last month when he shot a brilliant superb seven-under-par 65 to go one clear after 54 holes in the Australian Masters Saturday at the Huntingdale Golf Club.

Meanwhile India's teenaged star, Gaganjeet Bhullar lying tied 17th was the best among the seven Indians left in Hana Bank Vietnam Masters golf tournament in Hanoi.

Chopra with rounds of 69, 70 and 65 is now 12-under and one ahead of Aaron Baddeley of Australia (69). Tied for second with Baddeley is another Australian Kurt Barnes (69) with Rod Pampling (67) in fourth.

Chopra, who was born in Sweden but grew up with his Indian grandparents in Delhi, has an Australian wife and owns a house in Melbourne.

'It was just one of those days ... every time I had the opportunity of making a birdie, I made it,' Chopra said. 'I have been playing well all year, but I was never really scoring well. The better I thought my game was, the harder I pushed and the more I expected good results, and it wasn't working.'

Bhullar best among Indians

In Hanoi (Vietnam) teenaged Bhullar, going all out to earn full playing rights for 2008 by finishing in the top 60 of the Asian Tour, gave himself a great shot with a fine two-under 70 that carried him to tied 17th place at the end of the third round in the Hana Bank Vietnam Masters Saturday.

Bhullar, winner of the Doha Asian Games team silver, is now three-under 213, eight shots behind the Thai leader Chawalit Plaphol (67), who is at 11-under 205.

Bhullar was the best among the seven Indians who made the cut and are playing the weekend rounds. The other Indians are Rahil Gangjee (69-71-74) at two-under in 19th place, Gurbaaz Mann (69-73-74) at even par 216 in tied 30th. Arjun Singh (73-71-74), SSP Chowrasia (69-72-77) and Digvijay Singh (71-73-74) were all two-over 218 in tied 40th, while Harmeet Kahlon (73-73-74) at four-over 220 was tied 50th.

Randhawa, Ghei way behind in World Cup

In Dongguan (China) Jyoti Randhawa came out blazing as his aggressive play Saturday paid rich dividends and carried an out-of-form Gaurav Ghei with him as the Indian duo carded a brilliant seven-under 65 in the third round of the Omega Mission Hills World Cup. Despite the fine showing, the Indians were stranded at 19th place with just one more round to go.

The lead continued to be with the Americans Boo Weekley and Heath Slocum who shot a six-under 66 in the third round to total 20-under 196 for three days. They were one shot ahead of France, who carded a stunning 10-under 62 to zoom up from 10th to second at 19-under 197.
