Baghdad, Nov 24 (Xinhua) The US military said Saturday that 21 people were killed in two bomb attacks, which included a suicide car bombing, in the northern city of Mosul Friday.

'Al Qaida murdered 21 innocent Iraqis,' the US military spokesman Gregory Smith told a news conference in Baghdad Green Zone.

Earlier, an Iraqi police source put the toll at eight killed and 20 injured.

The suicide car bomber targeted the police patrol at the al-Mithaq intersection in southeast part of the city, killing three policemen, four civilians and wounding 20 people, police said.

The other incident involved a roadside bomb that targeted a police patrol in the city, damaging a police vehicle and killing a policeman aboard, the source said.
