Manila - Philippine authorities have arrested an American man wanted in the United States for the past 25 years for killing a pregnant woman, a senior official said Wednesday. Immigration chief Commissioner Marcelino Libanan said Robert Saquil Besabe, 51, was arrested Monday in the house of his girlfriend in Dasmarinas town in Cavite province, 20 kilometres south of Manila. Libanan said the suspect was facing murder charges in Washington State Superior Court for the killing of Carolyn Montoya and her unborn baby on August 16, 1982 in Seattle. Besabe fled to the Philippines to escape prosecution. Libanan said Besabe would be deported to the United States and will be banned from re-entering the Philippines.
