Los Angeles - Actor Matt Damon has been named as People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive," even though he declined to accept the award. Damon, 37, told the celebrity journal that he didn't deserve the award, which just caused the magazine to write that his modesty "perfectly demonstrates many of the reasons we chose him in the first place."

Damon's "irresistible sense of humor, heart-melting humility" and "rock-solid family man" status made him the logical winner, People enthused. Previous winners include George Clooney in 1997 and 2006, Brad Pitt (1995 and 2000) and Ben Affleck (2002).

Damon and Affleck won a screenwriting Oscar together in 1998 for Good Will Hunting, the film that launched their Hollywood careers. Damon is the star of the Bourne Identity films and starred in last year's Oscar winner The Departed.

Owen Wilson dating model

Los Angeles - Actor Owen Wilson is reportedly in a new relationship, after his split from Kate Hudson reportedly led to a suicide attempt in August.

According to reports Wednesday, Wilson and US model Le Call are now in a steady relationship in New York, despite the attention of the paparazzi.

"She is dating him. Le Call is totally overwhelmed by all of this attention," a source told People magazine. "She isn't used to it. So they will be leaving town tomorrow to escape - and traveling a great distance."

Dragonball movie set to roll

Los Angeles - Japanese animation cult hit Dragonball is to become a live-action movie, hitting screens next summer, Twentieth Century Fox said Wednesday.

Justin Chatwin is starring as the hero, while James Marsters will play the villain in the sci-fi adventure, which will be directed by James Wong. The movie has been penciled in for a worldwide release on August 15, 2008. Stephen Chow, the filmmaker behind Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer, is producing.

Dragonball has earned more than 4 billion dollars in graphic novels, video games and a phenomenally successful television series that ran in Europe, Asia, Latin America and North America.

The story follows a humanoid alien named Goku, who discovers that he was sent to Earth to blend in and destroy humanity but instead elects to protect the planet from an oncoming alien onslaught, bent on dominating the universe and controlling the mystical objects known as Dragonballs.
