NEW YORK - Marvel Comics has announced that it will be digitalizing its Super Hero adventures and will offer access for users through its new online subscription service Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited.

The company, which is owned by Marvel Entertainment, Inc, also said that users can have access to past issues of Amazing Spider-Man, The X-Men, Incredible Hulk and Fantastic Four as well. Both PC and MAC users can access the site and read all comics for as low as $4.99 per month.

Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited is also available free of cost for a limited time offering users access to 250 comic titles. For users who subscribe Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited offer 2,500 titles at the launch of the new site and has promised to add 20 additional titles every week.

“With Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited, we believe we have built a state-of-the-art online destination that will not only engage comic book readers of all ages, but also serve as the ultimate complement to our primary comic hobby market print business through which all new Marvel Comics monthly titles will continue to be released before their availability in digital format," said Dan Buckley, President, Marvel Publishing.

Subscribers have the option of reading the comics in single and double-page formats. Marvel also announced the addition of a Smart Panel feature that enables users to read the book panel-by-panel. This innovative technology is patent pending, Marvel announced.

Users will also be able to search for their favorite character, specific book title, mini-series, and date of publication on the site for easy navigation. Subscribers also have the option of creating personal reading lists that can be viewed by their friends.
