Stockholm - Swedish porn king Bert Milton has stunned management of Swedish football club AIK after revealing he has bought a 10 per-cent stake in the club, reports said Friday. Milton, 52, head of the Nasdaq-listed Private Media Group that publishes and distributes pornographic magazines and DVDs, said he aimed to increase his ownership in AIK, he told broadcaster TV3 late Thursday.
Milton said he wanted to gain "influence" in AIK and convince fans involved in hooliganism that "football is not about fighting."
AIK currently sit fifth in the Swedish premiership but are one of the clubs that in recent years have experienced a rise in hooliganism with supporters organizing mass fights with fans from rival clubs.
The news of Milton's move was a surprise for AIK, but club spokesman Johan Wiback told the Expressen newspaper that as a listed company, AIK "cannot do anything. Anyone can buy shares in AIK."
AIK board chairman Per Bystedt told tabloid Aftonbladet that the club did not want to be linked with porn.
"Our values are very different from what I consider the porn industry to have," Bystedt was quoted as saying.
Milton recently generated headlines after tax authorities won a case in the Supreme Administrative Court that ruled he owed back taxes of 650 million kronor (102 million dollars) for 1995-99.
The National Tax Board has for several years maintained that Milton did not move to Spain in 1989 as he has claimed, citing his ownership of several cars and a mansion south-west of Stockholm.
