TEHRAN: Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told delegates at a controversial international conference in Tehran to deliberate on the veracity of the Holocaust that Israel's days are numbered.
The conference, hosted by Iran and described as a debate on the killing of six million Jews in Nazi concentration camps and elsewhere, has brought condemnation from the west, including the Vatican.
Ahmadinejad had been maintaining that the killing was a "myth". He has also called for the Jewish state of Israel to be wiped off the map.
He told the conference a committee should be set up to investigate whether the Holocaust had indeed occurred. Justifying the need for such an investigation, he said the creation of a Zionist regime and the use of the Holocaust for propaganda purposes have become instruments in the hands of the western powers, especially the United States and Britain, to dominate the Middle East. "I believe that the roots of insecurity and injustice should be confronted,” he said.
He also told the participants, "Thanks to people's wishes and God's will the trend for the existence of the Zionist regime is downwards and this is what God has promised and what all nations want.
"Just as the Soviet Union was wiped out and today does not exist, so will the Zionist regime soon be wiped out."
Ahmadinejad was cheered by the delegates as he made the scathing remarks. The 60 plus attendees included several writers, hardcore opponents of Israel and the so-called believers in the "white supremacy". Many of them made presentations doubting the existence of gas chambers and concentration camps that were used by the Nazi Germany to exterminate the Jews and other "undesirable" people and arguing that the claims of the Holocaust were fabricated or exaggerated. Among the attendees was David Duke, former Ku Klux Klan leader, who spoke at the conference saying Israel feared an inquiry into the Holocaust more than a nuclear bomb from Iran.
Iran says it organized the conference to bring out the exact reasons behind the creation of Israel after World War II and to allow researchers from countries where it is a crime to deny the Holocaust. Ahmadinejad told the delegates that Iran is home for all freedom seekers of the world.
The delegates had earlier decided to form a "fact-finding" committee under an Iranian academic, Mohammad Ali Ramin, to study the Holocaust. Other members of the committee included scholars from the United States, France, Canada, Switzerland, Austria, Iran, Bahrain and Syria.
The Vatican issued a statement describing the Holocaust an "immense tragedy" which had to remain forever a warning for all people to respect the rights of others. The statement used the Hebrew word Shoah to describe the Holocaust.
Germany's chancellor Angela Merkel said the meeting sponsored by Iran shows the seriousness of the situation Israel is placed in.
The White House in Washington issued a statement Tuesday saying the gathering in Tehran is an “affront to the entire civilized world, as well as to the traditional Iranian values of tolerance and mutual respect.”

I really wish I could just have the means to go to an isolated island with my kids and leave behind the cruelty, the misery, the self-proclaimed christian priests (who are pedofiles and rapists), the selfish politicians (who send their youngsters to a nobody's war), the radical religious mass (both stupid and intelligent ones), the unattended, forgotten and spreading diseases (because the world's riches don't give a damn and would step over the dead)...etc etc.
Has the world always been money-driven and mean (yes, mean as in sick, perverted, bad), since the dawn of time? Or is it much worse today?
I'm not money-driven nor mean...I just would like to see a different planet and human race.....

The funniest thing that is happening right now is that America, and the whole of the western world seem to be giving more importance to some individuals and their actions instead of REAL problems.
What is wrong with Ahmadinejad and his supporters having their beliefs??? Is that such a threat to the western world???
Who the hell really cares about what happened during WWII, how many of you'll really get up each day and think about it??? Is it really that important??? Ok, maybe 50% of the Jews MAY think about it each day, but that makes up maybe maybe 0.1% of the population.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not debating if holocoust happened or not. It happened, but... its effect was felt THEN and TODAY only by a small fraction of the human civilization.
Then going by the DEMOCRACY bush keeps talking about, this topic is insignificant to the majority of the worlds population. So... why is it being given so much importance???
I would say stop looking at such ridiculous problems and try resolving the problem of global warming and destruction of marine life, which are REAL and significant. And, let me ask you WHAT is America doing about those two things??? Till recently, all they did was Claim Global Warming was a Myth.... If USA could have the audacity to claim that Global warming, something that is REAL and tangible, was a myth. Then I think Ahmadinejad has every right to have his belief about something that happened 50 years ago.

Weather you consider the bible a good book, fact, or history, the Jews have been around for a very long time, they lived there long before any Palistinians arrived,they have fought more wars than most people can imagine, and won all of them. I would think that before taking on the Israel state, I would think long and hard of whence they came. NO one fights harder than one whose back is to the wall. If the media would ignore these nutcases in Iran they might go away, but alas this won't happen. There seems to be an underlying current of ignorance flowing throughout the world.

May be what Hitler is said to have done is false, maybe it is true. Either way, it is the past. And nothing can be done to undo it. It wasn’t the Muslim, Arabs or Iranians who are accused of doing it, it is the Germans.
So whether it is true or false, it is irrelevant. What is relevant is the genocide Israel is committing now. That is true and the Israelis deny it while they kill people on Camera. While they kill people the Germans, Americans and British give them more weapons, to help them kill more. I think holocaust is a big lie. It's just a cover for Israel and US's crimes. There has been a lot of wars and there has been a lot of victims during the history but no one can punish a nation because of the crimes of another nation. Sooner or later, the palestinian will be back to their home.

The true aim of this sick conference was revealed by Ahmadinejad's closing remark. i.e. the aim is to delegitimize and then destroy Israel. The
Holocaust, in Ahmadinejad's ignorant analysis, is the 'reason' for Israel's existence. This is historically wrong , as the reason for Israel's existence as any reader of the Bible knows, goes back three thousand years or more. Israel existed before Islam was ever dreamed of.
There is also the modern revival of Jewish connection with the Holy Land which is called Zionism. This also predates the 'Holocaust' and there was a thriving Jewish community in the land of Israel before the Nazis came to power. Had there not been a Holocaust this Jewish community arguably would be much larger and stronger.
Ahmadinejad is ignorant, hate- filled but also extremely dangerous. His aim is to acquire nuclear weapons and use them against Israel. If he attains these weapons all of mankind will be endangered.
One more point. The haters- fools- and deniers of basic - facts of history who continue to type their nonsense into the Internet are the 'spam' of the Web. They are an annoyance which every reasonable and knowledgeable person should simply delete.

The interest shown by leaders to check the fact of the past seems silly at this point of time,
- when 100s of innocent iraqis are killed daily
- when 100s of innocent peple are dying of starvation to in africa
I think becaus of this blood rush by these leaders, the real pool people who are going to suffer is the Palestinians..

When I first heard the story, the first thing I thought about was about holding a convention to prove the world was flat in spite of all the evidence. I thought it would make as much sense.
However, I am not laughing since the situation is so serious. They are planning on wiping out Israel and starting WWIII. It will start WWIII whether the US is initially involved or not.
The Bush administration has really messed up by committing to an engagement in Iraq and tilting the balance of power in the Middle East in favor of the extremists in Iran. The Bush administration has also reduced the ability of the US to deal with the nuclear situation in Iran and set the precedent of pre-emptive strike.

Before you come out with ignorant nonesense like this please get your facts strait. The German population during WWII was actually closer to 80 million and the Jewish population of Germany was only 500,000. Of these nearly half fled the holocaust. The vast majority of the approx 6 million Jews that were killed were Polish (as many as 5 million), other East-European Jews and Russian Jews. Furthermore the overwhelming majority of SERIOUS and OBJECTIVE research, as opposed to ideologically biased research, completed on the subject has proved that the Nazis instigated mass genocide of the Jews in Europe.

The holocaust is a fact of history. History revisionist are always lurking around trying to rewrite things to thier agenda. The land which makes up the nation of Isreal came from two basic sources. One (the majority) belonged to Britan, from earlier conquest and they could give it to whom ever they wish. Two it was purchased by the Jewish settlers with money, from the Arabs who owned it and no longer wanted what was then basic waste land. Of course this is simple history that would take more than a news blip to research. The Islamic states want there to be no Isreal, or for that matter no living Jew. This has nothing to do with them having a piece of land given to them from the outcome of WW2.

I do not deny that Jews died as a result of harsh treatment at the hands of the German army, but I doubt that the number was six million and I further doubt that they were all executed and burned in ovens.
In any event, they weren't the only group to die enmasse - just the only ones who have beleagured the world with their never ending guilt trip.
The Zionist regime that has been established in Palestine is unlawful, and is the cause of Middle East unrest. America's funding of Israel and her tolerance of Israeli meddling in her foreign policy is unconstitutional and poses extreme danger to our nation.
