NEW YORK (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp is planning to invest up to $250 million for a minority stake in social networking site Facebook.com, The Wall Street Journal reported on its Web site on Wednesday.Microsoft also plans to sell advertising on Facebook outside the United States, the Journal reported. The two companies also discussed a valuation for Facebook that is as high as $15 billion, the Journal said.Microsoft and Facebook subsequently released a statement saying that Microsoft would take a $240 million minority stake in Facebook, valuing the company at $15 billion.(Reporting by Robert MacMillan) (c) Reuters 2007.
