Vienna - Toilets will be in short supply when thousands of fans gather in the public viewing zones during the upcoming Euro 2008 European Football Championship in Austria and Switzerland. An Austrian Euro-merchandising partner has now suggested a solution for preventing the abuse of the country's parks and street corners from those fans under a certain pressure, by selling portable urinals.
"Roadbag" is a one-way pocket urinal, a plastic bag of 12 centimetres width and 28 centimetres length. The bottle-shaped bag is able to hold up to 0.7 litres of liquid.
In case of an urgent bathroom break, men can relieve themselves into the bag via a 5.5 centimetre wide opening. Polymer crystals in the bag condense urine to an odourless gel, making the emergency bag disposable in the next rubbish bin.
Female football fans however will have to find other options.
The German-based marketer warned customers not to eat the absorbing material and not to use the bag during driving, despite the gadget being marketed for use on road trips.
