Innsbruck, Austria - Euro 2008 co-hosts Austria ended a dreadful run of nine games without a win Wednesday, beating the Ivory 3-2 in a friendly in Innsbruck. Sanel Kuljic put the home side in front on the half-hour mark and Andreas Ivanschitz made it 2-0 nine minutes after the restart before Chelsea striker Didier Drogba pulled one back for the visitors.
Joachim Standfest restored Austria's two-goal cushion but Drogba netted his second just before the end to make it 3-2.
The win relieves the pressure on under-fire coach Josef Hickersberger, whose future was due to be discussed Thursday by the Austrian football federation.
Meanwhile, the other Euro 2008 hosts Switzerland played out a scoreless draw with the United States in Basel.
