Washington - US President George W Bush warned Wednesday that a nuclear-armed Iran could lead to a third world war because of the Islamic state's determination to destroy Israel. "We have got a leader in Iran who has announced that he wants to destroy Israel," Bush said, referring to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. "So I have told people that, if you are interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon," Bush said. Bush's comments came one day after Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Ahmadinejad in Tehran and stated there was no evidence to support western accusations that Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons. Bush said he was eager to hear from Putin about his conversations with Ahmadinejad and whether the Russian leader remained determined to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Bush said he wanted Putin to "clarify" his remarks. "He understands that it's in the world's interests to make sure that Iran does not have the capacity to make a nuclear weapon," Bush said. "If he wasn't concerned about it, then why do we have such good progress at the United Nations?" Bush said. Putin has backed two UN Security Council resolutions imposing limited sanctions on Iran for refusing to halt uranium enrichment, but has been reluctant to come down too hard on Tehran over concerns it would undermine the diplomatic effort to keep Iran from developing atomic weapons. Iran maintains the process is solely for producing civilian energy.

Why so much concern for Israel?
By:
Michael Deaton ,
Mon, 22 Oct 2007 15:24:11 GMT |
|
Last time I checked, this was the United States of America. Not Israel. Why is Bush so concerned about the safety of Israel? He's sent hundreds of thousands of tax dollars on an illegal war in Iraq for Israel once already. Why is he willing to send tens of thousands MORE Americans to Iran to fight and die for Israel? Would he really start WWIII to protect Israel? Those are his words, not mine.

What on earth is the matter with GWB? Is he determined to get us into another World War before he leaves office? I don't think the man has a diplomatic bone in his body. Does he think he can remain president if he gets us into another World War? From what he has pulled in the past, I guess he intends to by-pass Congress on an issue like that. Lord help us. He can do so much damage to the entire world in his 14+ months left in office. Lord help us!

Bush is beating the bush. There will be no world war III if iran have nucler energy. The Americans we should worry about. As it is the only country in this world who have actually used the Nuclear Bomb.
Iran don't be detered by the "Bush" remarks. Because he is just a "Bush" and don't know what he is talking about. It is your Right to have Nucler Energy like any other country. So go ahead and stand for your rights as is called for in Islam.

Impeach them all.

Pelosi does not have the right to take Impeachment off the table, no one does as it is part of the Constitution.
Get your rep to sign on and support Kucinich's H Res 333 impeaching Cheney and then they go after Bush, it must be done in that order.
Write, call, email and visit your local politicians, local media and national reps and media.
We have tons of experts and military and ex military stating we are in a constitutional crisis, and on top of that illegally attacking Iraq and now the threat of attacking Iran could spiral out of control in many ways including a global depression so even for those that do not care about human life and suffering, this out of control government WILL affect you no matter who you are.
IMPEACH !
Remember--silence is complicity.

Bush Remarks

The resident in the white house just don't know when to back off does he? Bottom line is there will be a WWIII if Bush doesn't get his way. He is like a two year old Child throwing a temper-tantrum. This statement comes out of his mouth when five countries in the Mid-East have just joined together in an agreement to keep their countries STABILIZED. It is so obvious, the way he acts is so pathetic. Where is the Diplomacy? We should be talking peace instead of War. We should be cleaning the dual citizens out of Washington and only have US citizens running this country, and stop this giving BILLIONS TO OTHER COUNTRIES when we need our own money here. This country will not survive if we don't.

Iran/Ahmadi Nejad
By:
Rabbit ,
Thu, 18 Oct 2007 00:45:19 GMT |
|
I do realise the media is still beating the drums about the false claim that Ahmadi Nejad threatened Israel. It is false, as Ahmadi Nejad never said the words which were attributed to him. Bush knows nothing about anything, but there is no excuse for alleged news outlets for repeating the lie without correction anymore.
Even if the Iranian president said such a thing, WHICH HE DID NOT, it means nothing since the Iranian president is NOT a position with any power to speak of. The much more moderate Mullahs make the decisions.
There is NO evidence, just lies from the usual suspects; regarding an alleged Nuclear weapons program, and even if there was, SO WHAT? With the historically aggressive terror nation of Israel thratening Iran and others regularly along with proven Israel belligerence and THEY have hundreds of Nuclear weapons, onloy a hypocritical moron would deny Iran the same right to defence. Still the Fatwa issued by Khomenei AGAINST nuclear weapons stands unbroken today.
Any student of history with a rational mind would realise that Iran with Nuclear weapons would be a safer proposition than Israel with them. Unlike Israel which has never stopped its wars and incursions upon others in its brief bloody history, Iran has not attacked anyone else for quite a few hundred years. Nor are they so crass and pathetic as to constantly threaten to do so, like the USA and Israel.
Spin it all you like, but this is the living, verifiable and irrefutable truth.

UUUUHHHHH.........having the knowledge..........??? Dude, They got the knowledge already. Everyone's got the knowledge, it's easy for any non-moron. You can google the knowledge to make a bomb, its 50 year old technology!!! So if they got the knowledge, what to do?? Can you unlearn them, kill all those with the knowledge?? NO, you cannot-- There are Iranian students over here in U.S. universities and other locations in Europe Asia (Pakistan) studying nuclear technology. The father of Pakistans bomb was a metalurgist, not a nuclear engineer......... and it was mathaticians that created the "knowledge" for the bomb. Someone could make an A bomb in their basement. Anyone that tells you otherwise is a lier. It would not be easy, but its possible. So, what is all this tough talk about??? Bush and the hiz petroconz would not want Iran to be able to defend their oil from Halburton and Blackwater. They want to be able to roll in anytime they want for Irans oil! Only bush is running out of time . He needs to go fast (again) and strike B4 he joins Nixon Johnson and Hitler on the dustheap of war crime failures.

Nice stunt.
Putin makes a visit to Iran, and while the US press is not really covering that, Bush ensures he's got the headlines by making outlandish exaggerations.
Bush must know that this is not true and even if it were Ahmadinejad does not have the authority to pull the trigger on 'the bomb' even if he wanted to. WTF. Why does the US insist on policy leading to confrontation based ideology and hatred rather fact? I mean if Ahmadinejad had actually said that than it may have been worrying, but seeing Bush's blatant misrepresentations of facts tells me that the Admin has already decided on something and is just searching for any pretext to justify it.
Iran has made it clear that it is not looking for confrontation and war and even offered a full package back in 2003 that even addressed recognizing Israel. There ARE STILL OPTIONS available. Iranians don't want to rule the region but they just want to be treated with respect and not bullied like some bad kid who stepped out of line. They have every right to protect their national security in Iraq and Afghanistan, more so than the US, and more have more in common with the US keeping the region stable than having havoc and turmoil; does anyone remember the Iran-Iraq war?

Of course, Ahmadinejad didn't ever say that he wanted to destroy Israel, he only implied that he wanted to see "regime change". Most intelligent and well informed people have long known about the deliberate mistranslation of his speech to suit the zionist agenda. I guess that makes Bush either stupid and ill-informed or a zionist liar.

THE IRANIAN PRESIDENT IS FAR MORE ARTICULATE AND A WHOLE LOT SMARTER THAN THAT LITTLE RUNT BUSH. BUSH HAS DUPED THE WHOLE WORLD INTO A WAR WITH IRAQ, AND HAS DESTROYED THAT COUNTRY. BUSH IS A WAR CRIMINAL, AND HIS CREDIBILITY IS NON EXISTANT.

Bush warns nuclear-armed Iran could mean 'World War III'

Didn’t the Bush administration and The Poodle say that about Iraq. Critics can be forgiven for having missed its excellence, given it comes from the mouth of an idiot. It's not quite excellent enough, though.
In Iraq, the US has been defeated militarily, because it has not attained the most basic objectives it could possibly be said to have had.
It is often said that the US has squandered the good will it gained world-wide after 9-11. It should also be noted that the US has squandered the goodwilll it gained domestically after 9-11. Americans are not united behind the war on terror because too many of them don't believe in its efficacy. If the US could not gain victory united, it certainly won't gain it divided.
No one who counts is interested any more in what Bush is saying!

Scofflaw Israel and law-abiding Iran
By:
Harvey Reece ,
Wed, 17 Oct 2007 19:41:52 GMT |
|
And how many nuclear weapons does the scofflaw state of Israel currently have pointing in the direction of Iran?
Yes, the same Israel that has ignored over 1,000 UN resolutions.
No wonder Iran, which is NOT breaking any international laws, feels so threatened. And by the way, Ahmadinejad never said he wished to "wipe Israel off the map". He said that his desire was for "a world without Zionism", and the press deliberately misquoted him.
But then, we all know what sort of boys own the press, don't we?

Eleven years ago I suffered a severe Stroke. For seven minutes I was without any sign of life. The main point is; during this afterlife experience I experienced a snap shot of things to come. People, we are on the cusp of very bad times. Way beyond anything here-to-for experienced. We must all be aware that the average person feels that something is very wrong, that there is something that they just can't get a grip on. Well they are right. Iran and Bomb
By:
Ralph ,
Wed, 17 Oct 2007 18:34:36 GMT |
|
The whole problem could be solved by the following plan:
Each country of the world should agree to permit an international team to inspect is atomic pantry, and record the findings publically. They should agree that each country should have nuclear weapons, but all on the same level. This would include Israel, the U.S., Russia, etc. They would agree that any country who violates would be subject to all of the others nuking the violator. This plan seems about as reasonable as the present one, where there are two kinds of countries, those who may have and those who may not have nuclear weapons, with the "haves" deciding which is which.

For the record, the IAEA has verified that Iran does not have a nuclear weapons program and has no intentions to develop one.
Nor has President Ahmadinejad stated that Iran wants to destroy Israel. What he actually said, when translated from Farci was, "Someday, Israel will disappear in the sands of time."
