BUFFALO, N.Y., Oct. 15 Ales Kotalik scored on a power play with 3.7 seconds remaining in overtime Monday, lifting the Buffalo Sabres to a 5-4 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Kotalik's slap shot from the left circle was stopped by Toronto goaltender Andrew Raycroft, but Leafs defenseman Bryan McCabe appeared to accidentally knock it into his own net to give the Sabres the victory.

The game-winning tally came after both teams combined for six goals in the final 11:11 of regulation.

Jason Pominville and Jochen Hecht had a goal and an assist each, while Adam Mair and Thomas Vanek also scored for the Sabres.

Jocelyn Thibault made his first start in goal for the Sabres and finished with 21 saves.

Chad Kilger scored twice and added an assist for the Maple Leafs, while Nik Antropv had a goal and one assist. Simon Gamache had the other Toronto goal and John Pohl had three assists.

Raycroft made 37 saves for Toronto.
