Clothes retailer H&M reports 25 per cent sales rise in September

Stockholm - Swedish clothes retailer Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) said Monday that its September sales were up 25 per cent year-on- year. The company said that it operated 1,452 stores in 28 countries at the end of September, compared to 1,300 at the end of September 2006. The group plans to open its first store in Japan in 2008.
