BRUSSELS, Oct. 2 Workers at a Brussels hotel said officials with the youth wing of Sweden's Social Democratic Party left a bedroom covered in human waste.

Hotel van Belle staff said 23 senior members of the youth party stayed at the hotel in June and after a night on the town, one of the guests left a foul-smelling mess for the chambermaid to take care of, The Local reported Tuesday.

"There were feces on the carpet, on the toilet door, on the external door, on the chair and on the wall," receptionist Rashid bin Hach said.

The party members, who claimed the feces came from an animal, paid $70 dollars to have the room cleaned, the newspaper said. However, the chambermaid said she believes the droppings came from a human.

"One can see a clear difference," she told The Local.

A spokesman for the youth wing of the Social Democratic Party said it was never determined which party member was responsible for the mess.
