New Delhi - Wipro, India's third-biggest software company, has won a five-year integrated IT services contract worth 130 million dollars from British utility Thames Water, a newspaper reported Wednesday. Thames Water is an old Wipro client but this is the largest single deal that the company has won from the British firm, the Economic Times daily reported.
Thames Water is responsible for the water supply and waste water treatment in parts of London, Surrey, Wiltshire and Thames Valley in Britain.
Wipro provides comprehensive IT solutions and services, information systems outsourcing, software application development and research and development services to corporations globally.
The firm reported a profit of 200 million dollars in the January-March quarter, taking its profit in the financial year through March 31 to 677 million dollars, for an increase of 44 per cent from the previous year.
