JERUSALEM, Dec. 3 The Israeli military raised its alert level in Lebanon Sunday out of concern Hezbollah was organizing demonstrations against Prime Minister Fuad Saniora.Israeli Defense Minister Amir Peretz ordered military intelligence to track events in Lebanon closely, Israel Radio reported.While Israel raised its alert level, several cabinet ministers warned against Israeli interference in the escalating Lebanese crisis.A former Israeli general said in a separate radio interview any Israeli interference could lead Syria and Iran to take decisive action, even up to the point of assassinating Saniora.Thousands of Hezbollah supporters continued their noisy sit-in protest in the heart of Beirut Sunday in an effort to pressure Saniora's U.S.-backed government into resigning.Copyright 2006 by UPI
