JERUSALEM, Dec. 2 United Nations resolutions supporting a Palestinian state damage the body ' s capacity to be involved in the Mideast crisis, an Israeli official says. Unfortunately for us, for a number of decades, the U.N. General Assembly tends to automatically pass a series of one-sided, unbalanced, anti-Israel resolutions from year to year, an Israeli Foreign Ministry official said after the General Assembly called for the withdrawal of Israel from the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967 and the realization of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.Ronny Lashno, a Foreign Ministry deputy director, told YNetNews that Israel was not fazed by the General Assembly's resolutions.Last year there were 18 resolutions. This year there will be more because of the war in Lebanon, Lashno said. Next week, they will vote on the rest of the resolutions.Pro-Palestinian resolutions enjoy an automatic majority in the General Assembly, Lashno said.Copyright 2006 by UPI
