Tehran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Saturday at a military parade in Tehran that renewed United Nations Security Council resolutions and sanctions against Iran would not work. "Those (countries) still thinking that decaying methods such as psychological war and economic sanctions would work and prevent Iran from technological progress are making a mistake, but they are welcome to test the previously failed test again," Ahmadinejad said at the parade.
Ahmadinejad spoke after Friday's meeting of world powers in Washington to discuss imposing further sanctions on Iran because of the Islamic state's defiance of United Nations demands to halt uranium enrichment.
"Today, Iran's armed forces are equipped with the most progressive logistics and will decisively defend the nation's goals," said Ahmadinejad, referring to military options considered by some Western countries to stop Iran from pursuing nuclear programmes.
Ahmadinejad will leave Sunday for New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly, where is to give an address.
