Frankfurt-Kia is offering a station wagon version of the C'eed in Europe from September with the Sporty Wagon selling at 15,900 euros (21,631 dollars), around 950 euros more than the five- door hatchback, the South Korean car maker announced in Frankfurt. Technically the wagon is the same as the hatchback but is 24 cm longer with more than 200 litres extra in boot volume. When the rear seat is folded down, the car has a loading volume of 1,664 litres, according to the car maker.
Similar to the hatchback, standard items are six airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Brakes), ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) and active headrests on the front seats. All the station wagons will be fitted with a roof rack, a net separating the loading area and 55 litres of storage space on the wagon floor plus 12 volt electrical socket.
Three petrol engines are available between 1.4-litre and 2-litre and an output from 80kW/109 hp to 105 kW/143 hp. The diesels are in the range of 1.6 to 2 litres and an outputfrom 66 kW/90 hp to 103 kW/140 hp. The most economical petrol motor has a consumption of 6.3 litres per 100 km and a C02 emission figure of 167 g/km while the most frugal diesel is listed at 4.9 litres and 128 g/km.
In addition, Kia is scheduling a hatchback Pro C'eed three-door vehicle for sale in late 2007. It is based closely on the pro_cee'd concept first unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last year , according to the car maker.
