LAS VEGAS, Sept. 10 The Las Vegas Police Department charged Kid Rock with misdemeanor battery after an altercation with rocker Tommy Lee, TMZ.com reported Monday.
The LVPD issued a statement confirming that officers responded to a disturbance Sunday night at the MTV Video Music Awards.
"We had a lot of officers working in and around the awards, so they got there fairly quickly," the statement said. "We determined that the altercation was between Kid Rock and Tommy Lee. After our investigation, Kid Rock did receive a citation for misdemeanor battery. Everyone involved was interviewed."
A witness told TMZ.com that Lee "got it pretty bad" during the scuffle but it was unclear what the fight was about.
Rock is expected to appear in a Las Vegas court in the next three to five weeks.
Pamela Anderson, who was formerly married to both singers, was also at the event.
