Microsoft will be releasing the multiplayer demo of one of the most highly awaited games, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, on November 23.
The demo will be available on Xbox Live and on the next day, being termed as "White Friday", retailers will start to accept advance orders for the game. Up to 16 players can play the multiplayer demo at a time on Xbox Live.
Developed by the Japanese company, Capcom, the game is a third-person sci-fi shooter situated on an alien planet, which is almost always covered with snow, and is inhabited by deadly aliens and space pirates. The demo features the "Pirate Fortress" map and has four different modes, Elimination, Team Elimination, Post Grab and Fugitive.
Gamers will be able to check out new weapons and vehicles including "Vital Suits". In an attempt to generate interest in gamers, Capcom will be giving out special token cards for those who pre-order either the standard or limited Collector's Edition. These cards contain a unique code using which gamers could download a special version of the multiplayer demo featuring an additional “Dilapidation” map.
Speaking out about the game, Charles Bellfield, vice president, marketing, Capcom Entertainment, Inc said, "The primary focus for Lost Planet has been on raising the bar on what we deliver to our fans, not only through the quality of the game itself but in its supplementary campaigns as well. In addition to an incredibly packed Collector's Edition, we are continuing to reward our most devoted fans with real, significant content that they can truly appreciate."
Lost Planet is scheduled for a January 12, 2007 release.
