Harley-Davidson cuts Q3 shipment expectations

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson Inc <HOG.N> cut its expectations for motorcycle shipments for the third quarter and said 2007 earnings would come in 4 percent to 6 percent lower than 2006.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson Inc cut its expectations for motorcycle shipments for the third quarter and said 2007 earnings would come in 4 percent to 6 percent lower than 2006.

The company said it expects to ship between 86,000 and 88,000 Harley-Davidson motorcycles in the third quarter, after originally planning for shipments of between 91,000 and 95,000 units.

Harley-Davidson said it expects 2007 earnings per share in the range of $3.69 to $3.77, compared with $3.93 in 2006.
