Stuttgart - Opel is planning to revive the Calibra name with a sporty coupe planned for 2010, Germany's auto-motor-sport magazine reported recently. The Opel management is hoping to give the brand a sportier image by reviving the Calibra which ceased production in 1997, the magazine said quoting company sources.
The coupe would be built on the platform of the Astra with a convertible version fitted with a vinyl roof also in the planning, auto-motor-sport said.
A spokesman for Opel described the report as "speculation".
