Berlin - Car shows might no longer be a domain largely for men. Indeed, organizers of this year's Frankfurt Motor Show are linking up with a leading German women's magazine, Brigitte, to create a special lounge for female visitors to what is one of the world's leading motor shows.
With Europe's biggest car maker, Volkswagen AG also lending its support, the Brigitte lounge will offer female car buffs a chance to take a break from making their way around the shiny, new models on display at the fair and put up their feet for a while.
Organizers are promising a relaxing atmosphere in the lounge where visitors will be able to experience some "cultural and culinary highlights" along with a special cosmetics programme designed to allow the women car enthusiasts to pamper themselves.
Interesting discussions and interviews with prominent guests have also been arranged for each afternoon in the lounge during the 10-day car show.
Weary of trudging around the motor show's 225,000 square metres of space, a few male visitors might also feel the need to unwind for a while in the Brigitte lounge.
With this in mind, organizers have made it clear that men will also be welcome in the lounge.
