LONDON, Sept. 3 Britain's Ockwell-Smith family took online buying to the next level and furnished an entire house with items bought off eBay.com.

The family moved into their 300-year-old cottage knowing that it needed refurbishing, so rather than spend $100,000 by buying furniture from stores, they used eBay and furnished their home for just $14,000, The Daily Mail reported Monday.

The couple spent the last 18 months on eBay, constantly trying to get the best bargain prices on curtains, antiques and ornaments.

However, stressed Sarah Ockwell-Smith: "I didn't do all this just to save money. It was the thought of traipsing round the shops with three young children. We were looking at things such as fire grates and fabrics and I knew they would be really bored."

She added that the house was in dire need of remodeling when they purchased it.

"It was like it was in a 1970s time warp. An elderly man had been living there and all the decoration was from the late Sixties or Seventies," she said.
