WASHINGTON, Sept. 2 A new book featuring interviews with U.S. President George Bush shows the nation's leader has begun weighing his options regarding his future.

In author Robert Draper's book "Dead Certain," Bush reveals in Oval Office interviews that speeches and a nice Dallas home are his foremost thoughts regarding his upcoming life outside the White House, The New York Times reported Friday.

"I'll give some speeches, just to replenish the ol' coffers," the book quotes Bush as saying. "We'll have a nice place in Dallas."

Bush also spoke with Draper about the situation in Iraq, revealing his administration's plan should the recent troop surge produce positive results later this year.

"To get us in a position where the presidential candidates will be comfortable about sustaining a presence," he said.

The Times said that in the book, which is due out Tuesday, Bush also discusses his unpopularity among U.S. citizens and other major pitfalls during his presidency.
