Key Milestone Highlighting Continuing Growth of Component and Receiver Sales SHENZHEN, China, Oct. 7
SHENZHEN, China, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- iBiquity Digital Corporation, the
developer of digital HD Radio(TM) technology for AM and FM audio and data
broadcasting, announced today that over 1 million HD Radio modules have been
manufactured for retail radio receivers using the Texas Instruments DRI Series
chipsets. Module manufacturers leading the way to this milestone include ACE
Dixxio, Kensen, Kiryung, Kwang Sung Electronics, LG Innotek, Powertech,
Samsung EM, TOKO and Wistron NeWeb Corporation.
"This is an important milestone in the growth of the HD Radio market. It
reflects the steady increase in product development and, ultimately, retail
sales of HD Radio receivers," said Jeff Jury, COO of iBiquity Digital. "More
importantly, as next generation products come to market, there has been a
significant drop in product development and production time. Many products are
going through this cycle in less than six months, contributing to the rapid
growth of products coming to market."
Platforms supported by these modules include home AVR, table top radios,
aftermarket in-dash and mobile products, plug-and-play devices and OEM car
products. Modules from these manufacturers can be found in products from AAMP
of America, Audiovox, Alpine, Coby, CSW, Denon, Dual, Harman/JBL, Insignia,
Jensen, JVC, jWIN, Marantz, Onkyo, Pioneer, Polk, Radio Shack, Sangean and
Yamaha.
The modules are based on iBiquity Digital's 1181, 2129 and 2023 I/O
Specifications and Reference Designs. All modules are certified through
iBiquity's certification process.
