PALO ALTO, Calif. - (Business Wire) SonicSwap just launched TuneVision.com - a new website dedicated to personal music video entertainment. Utilizing as little as a single artist entry, the site delivers a great playlists of music videos. Users now enjoy a continuous playlist of related artist videos – making it easier to discover great music. The video playlists drive a higher number of videos played per visit, and transforms the short-form music video into a long-form programming that is easier to monetize. SonicSwap’s collaboration with Adobe allows them to leverage Adobe’s upcoming Flash® Player 10.1 release to expand TuneVision to the Smart Phone Market via Android and smartphones like the Google Nexus One.

“We remember how great it was to just turn on the TV - tune in MTV - and enjoy great music with friends. Music video turned into something you have to search and watch one video at a time,” said Dan Skilken, founder, President and CEO of SonicSwap, Inc. “We wanted to take the work out of enjoying great music video programming, and give you control over the music mix. We thought it would be fun to enter an artist or artists you love, and see where the entertainment takes you.”

“We are working closely with SonicSwap to help them prepare for the upcoming Flash Player 10.1 release,” said Ricky Liversidge, vice president, Product Marketing, Flash Platform at Adobe. “It is impressive to see advanced entertainment solutions like TuneVision leverage Adobe Flash to support multiple platforms on the web, desktop, mobile devices and the digital home.”

“Adobe Flash is critical to the advanced architecture of the TuneVision site and our ability to support many platforms with a smaller R&D expense,” said Skilken. “The current performance of TuneVision on the Google Android Nexus is outstanding. We were up and running on the phone in less than a day, and didn’t have to wait for store approval to launch the application.” Here is a link to the demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJyxUEevnNE

Users start by entering one or more artists, and the site searches various web sources for related artists and tracks to build an ideal playlist. When you play a track in Tunevision, the player simultaneously searches Sony, YouTube, and Yahoo to find the best videos to play. This gives users access to millions of videos in the largest combined music video library on the web. Users can also enter their SonicSwap or Last.FM username to build a perfect music mix based on their favorite artists in iTunes. If they also enter their friends’ usernames, the site builds the ideal party mix of everyone’s favorites.

The video playlists help the users find a better mix of music, extending the time spent on the TuneVision site. Returning visitors view and average of 17 videos per visit and spend an average of 25 minutes on the site. This transforms the traditional short-form music video into long-form programming that lends itself to better monetization with video advertising. Viewers are more tolerant of occasional advertising in long-form programming and are less likely to click away.
