“Ding” Darling Days is the annual week-long festival of nature at the J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge. This 5,000-acre federal gem of nature occupies a substantial percentage of Sanibel Island, and attracts thousands of nature lovers each year. “Ding” Darling Days is when the Refuge puts on a series of daily events to highlight the Refuge and its several benefits to wildlife and those who come to witness it. A highlight of the week is the presentation of the 2010 winner in the Federal Duck Stamp art competition.
