HOUSTON - (Business Wire) Prominent intellectual property attorney Dwayne L. Mason has joined international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP in Houston as a shareholder and Head of the Texas IP Litigation Group. Mason was previously at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP, where he was a member of the firmwide management committee, led that firm's diversity committee, and served as the global Practice Manager of the Intellectual Property Practice. Greenberg Traurig has three offices in Texas. It is ranked among the Top 25 firms in Texas by the Texas Lawyer and Top 25 firms in Houston by the Houston Business Journal.

Mason assists companies with the protection and commercialization of intellectual property. He often focuses on pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, nanotechnology, hydrocarbon and chemical processing, oil and gas production, process control, software and business methods. Mason has litigated in various state and federal district courts, in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal and 5th Circuits, and in domestic and international arbitration proceedings before the American Arbitration Association and the International Chamber of Commerce.

Mason holds a J.D. in from the University of Houston Law Center and a B.S. in chemical engineering from Purdue University.
