WOODBURY, N.Y. - (Business Wire) The New York Asian Women's Center (NYAWC), a non-profit social service and advocacy organization serving women and their children, will have a special reason to be thankful this Thanksgiving when they receive a free recycled Dodge Caravan from GEICO and Sam's Auto Body as a part of the National Auto Body Council's Recycled Rides program.

The vehicle will be presented to the NYAWC at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, at Sam's Auto Body, an approved GEICO Auto Repair Xpress shop located at 50 Old Fulton Street, Brooklyn, N.Y.

NYAWC will use the vehicle to bring up to 65 women and children survivors of domestic violence to its emergency shelters each year as well as to transport supplies and groceries to feed the families.

Seth Ingall, regional vice president of GEICO's New York operations, said, “We're proud of the combined effort everyone has put forth for a well-deserving organization such as NYAWC. We donated the vehicle and Sam's Auto Body worked on repairs to ensure its safety. We are all looking forward to hosting the donation ceremony at one of the repair shops where we offer GEICO's Auto Repair Xpress program.”

New York Asian Women's Center's Executive Director Larry Lee said “We are so grateful to GEICO, the National Auto Body Council's Recycled Rides program, Sam's Body Shop, the suppliers and the staff that made this possible. Because of their hard work, we are thrilled to accept this wonderful, recycled car which will allow us to better help our women and children as they recover from domestic violence.”

The National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides Program is planning on simultaneously giving away 100 vehicles to families in need throughout the nation during the Thanksgiving week. For more information on the Recycled Rides program, visit www.autobodycouncil.org.
