Munich - German truck and diesel-engine manufacturer MAN Thursday reported a 16 per cent boost in sales in the second quarter of 2010 over the same period of 2009, and an almost doubled operating profit.
Sales for the Munich-based firm rose to 3.6 billion euros (4.7 billion dollars), with operating profit at 276 million euros.
"Better macroeconomic developments and reduced uncertainty in the
financial sector and in
manufacturing industry had a positive effect on the
transportation and
energy markets," wrote MAN chief executive Georg-Pachta Reyhofen.
