Hong Kong - A
Hong Kong minibus driver was jailed for 32 months Thursday for causing the death of two
women by dangerous driving. Chan Chi-chiu, 34, was speeding when he crossed a give-way line in the busy Mongkok area on June 12 last year. He collided with a double-decker bus and then ploughed into pedestrians on the pavement, killing two of them and injuring 10 other people.
The
court heard that Chan, who pleaded guilty, had four previous convictions for speeding. He was also banned from driving for four years.
