Sydney - A farm almost the size of
Singapore went up for sale in
Australia Friday and was expected to fetch around 350 million Australian dollars (315 million US dollars). Carrington Farms, a 570-square-kilometre property on the New South Wales-Queensland border, comes with an impressive Macintyre River frontage of 80 kilometres, enough grass for 30,000 sheep and sufficient
water in its 29 reservoirs to grow 125,000 bales of cotton a year.
The spread has been a family business for 25 years.
"This is simply a generational change,"
real estate agent David Wells said. "The owner wants to move on with other things in her life."
